Expectations for 8th Grade Recognition

Information concerning: appropriate dress, attendance, grades, and behavior expectations in order for students to attend 8th grade recognition.

It is important that your student attend school and rehearsal the day of recognition. This is mandatory in order to participate.  This is to ensure they know where they are to go, where to line up, where to sit, etc.

Academic achievement is vital to the future success of our students.  Therefore, in order to attend 8th grade recognition students cannot have more than 2 failing grades for second semester.

Behavior expectations during school prior to recognition and during recognition are the same as it is during the school year.

Concert dress is appropriate for recognition night.

Girls wear dresses, skirts, or dress pants with shoes that are comfortable to walk in.

Boys wear slacks (khakis are acceptable), with a button up or polo shirt. (tie is optional)

**No jeans, shorts, or sweats. Dress shoes preferred but black sneakers are acceptable as well. Student may wear casual clothes for the dance.  School dress code will be enforced.

Students who do not meet the above requirements will be unable to attend the recognition or the dance.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Middle School office at 316-284-6260.
