Parent Technology Night #2

Did you miss it? CMS held a Parent Technology Night on Sept. 19th. Don't worry! We will be holding another one!

OCTOBER 2, 6:00-7:30 PM

Do you want to know how to check your child's grades and assignments?  Come to the cafeteria for a come and go session.  Teachers will be available for help in setting up Schoology parent accounts, explaining differences between Infinite Campus and Schoology, and answering questions and concerns about technology.

Are you worried about your child and social media?   We are offering two presentations geared to inform parents about the potential dangers of social media.  One presentation will cover social media apps that teenagers may hide from their parents and the second presentation will cover the very real dangers of human trafficking and how teenagers can become victims.

Parents are welcome to join us for some or all of the events.  Hope to see you there!

Change of Policy

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Safety and security of our students is one of Newton Public Schools main goals. With that in mind beginning with the school year 2017-18 all volunteers are required to submit the provided Volunteer Disclosure and Authorization for Background Check form and the Applicant Information Form. These forms may be turned in to your student’s school or to the Human Resources office at McKinley Administrative Center  at 308 E 1st St. Newton.

Parents or guardians who will volunteer at any time during the school year or who will be attending any field trips with a student must have these forms completed and on file with District Office to attend.

Please contact Jane Nichols, Director of Human Services at 316-284-6212 if you have any questions.

Thank you!
